the slow way.
Nordwool began in 2016 with a simple discomfort: too many sweaters, worn a few times, discarded. We wanted to make something else — pieces so honestly built you'd keep them for a lifetime.
Everything we produce begins in the mountains above Bergen and ends in your wardrobe. Nothing in between is hidden.
The Sourcing Journey
From sheep to shelf, in four steps.

The farm
Sogn og Fjordane, Norway
Our merino comes from a cooperative of eleven family farms in the Norwegian highlands. The sheep graze freely on alpine pasture and are sheared once each spring by hand. No mulesing, no shortcuts.

The mill
Bergen, Norway
The raw fleece is scoured with biodegradable soap and spun into yarn at a family-run mill we've partnered with for eight years. Water is filtered and reused; heat comes from hydropower.

The knitters
Oslo, Norway
Every sweater is knitted in small batches at a workshop of twelve knitters — most of whom we've worked with since day one. We pay well above the industry standard. Nothing is rushed.

The finish
Direct to you
Pieces are folded, tagged and shipped in recycled paper mailers. We ship carbon-neutral across the EU. And when your Nordwool piece needs a repair — we mend it, free, for as long as you own it.

Traceable wool
Every fibre from a named farm we've visited. Our supply chain is published in full each year.
No overproduction
We produce in small batches based on real orders. We don't discount, and we don't destroy stock.

Send us any Nordwool piece, and we'll mend it. Free, forever. Because the greenest sweater is the one you keep.
